Now I don’t know about you, but as much as I love my work, I have no intention of still being heavily involved in it when I start to get toward my senior years. I realise I am lucky in that I enjoy what I do, so in that sense working a little into my twilight years is something I would probably enjoy.

So what sort of things should you do in order to plan for retirement? Some of the things you should consider are:

Roughly how old do you want to be when you stop working?
What are you currently earning?
What are your current outgoings?
Could you find a way of increasing your earnings?
How much can you afford to put away each month?

In other words what we are really doing here is drawing up a retirement battle plan. What you need to do is work out roughly how much you can afford to save each month and set that aside as early as possible.

What people then do sometimes is gradually increase or decrease payments into their savings as they get closer to retirement age. The less money you put away at the start the more you will need to save later on, the more you save earlier the less you will need to save early on.

The Politics of Blogging

Blogging began as the online version of personal diaries where people would post their ideas and feelings for the rest of the world to see. Initially, blogging was limited to the tech savvy but slowly it gained widespread popularity as more and more people jumped on the bandwagon of the internet.

It has now evolved into a powerful social networking platform as well as being a popular source of information. However, due to their rise in popularity and the fact that people use blogs in their quest for accurate information, this places a lot of responsibility on the bloggers themselves. Of course, there are no written rules for blogging as that would be the equivalent of strangling freedom of expression. On the other hand, while everyone should have the right to express themselves freely, it goes without saying that one should not present inaccurate information as being fact.

The Unwritten Rules of Blogging

Fact vs Fiction: If you have a blog on a certain topic, whether it is for your online marketing business or simply a hobby, and it is not simply your personal online diary where you express your opinions, you have a responsibility to your audience to ensure that you are presenting them with accurate information.

This means you need to make sure you check your facts, which is quite easy to do considering that you can find everything and anything you need online. You need to put your reporter’s cap on and remember that you have an obligation to be as objective as possible. This doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t express your own opinions as well, but you need to ensure that your audience is aware that it is solely your opinion and not a fact. Copyright Laws: Just because information is available online this doesn’t mean that it is not subject to copyright laws. Some people make the mistake of thinking that everything online is public domain and this is far from the truth. Therefore, if you want to use someone else’s material, whether it’s photographs, videos or an article, your best option is to ask for permission so that you do not end up in legal trouble. Blogging was the first digital social networking platform to emerge and at one time there was a stigma attached to the veracity of the information presented, which has not completely disappeared.

The Legalities of Doing Business Online

One aspect that is often overlooked when it comes to setting up a network marketing business is the legal side of matters. Just because you are working from home and your business is online doesn’t mean that there aren’t legal issues to consider. By getting the legalities right from the start you will have less to worry about in the long term and you will also be protecting yourself.

Choosing the Type of Business

When you first set up your business, the first thing you will have to do is decide on a name for your business. You will have to decide on a few options because not every name might be available, something you can check online via the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Before you register your name, though, you might also want to check whether or not the domain is available. If you are running an online marketing business, you are certainly going to need a strong web presence. So, if the domain name for your chosen business name is not available then you might consider slightly altering the name to find an available domain. Once you have decided on your business’ name, you will have to register it with your state government.

You will also have to find out whether or not your state or city have any special requirements in terms of licenses for your particular type of business. While this differs from state to state, finding out the information you need is quite easy as all the local authorities have their requirements posted on their websites. As a matter of fact, you will be able to register your business and get everything set up without leaving your home as it can easily be done online.

Next, you need to decide on the legal structure of your company which will affect many issues including how you will be taxed. There are three main types of businesses, namely LLC, sole proprietor and corporation. Each business structure has benefits and drawbacks, which is why you should seek the advice of a tax attorney or a specialized lawyer. For example, if you opt for sole proprietorship, your assets are also considered the business’ assets meaning that any debts your business incurs will also be your debts.
