Getting More Subscribers for Your Email List

Internet marketingEvery Internet marketer will tell you that the money is in the list. What that means is, having an email list of highly targeted prospects allows you to make money over and over every time you have a new product to promote.

If you can make that email list large enough, you’ll never have to work again. Therefore, you should be trying to get as many subscribers to your email list as possible. The following are a few tricks you can use to get more addresses, and more prospective customers that can make you loads more money.

Newsletter or Report

One of the most common ways of getting people to fork over their email addresses is to offer them a subscription to a regular newsletter. This is a great idea because it allows you to give out some free news and information about the niche you’re working in, but it also allows you to promote your products at the same time.

You can also use the articles you’ve written in the past and compile them into a PDF report that you can offer in exchange for their information. For example, if you have a weight loss site, you can take your articles and compile them into a report titled, “Lose 20 lbs. in 20 Days!” To download the free report, visitors need only provide their name and email address. They get information on losing weight, you get their information and everyone wins.

Your Subscribers’ Friends and Contacts

Another idea to get more subscribers than ever is to convince your current list that they should let their friends and family know about your newsletter, e-course, report, or whatever else you have in place to entice people to trade their information.

You may even offer a discount or some type of reward to the person who gets the most referrals. Turn it into a game. That way, they feel as though they get something out of the deal, and you get to see your email list grow larger than ever.

Other Marketers’ Lists

This is where you find another Internet marketer and the two of you basically trade lists so that you now have double the contacts. Be careful about doing this, however. You’ll only want to go through with a deal like this if you completely trust the Internet marketer in question.

If you don’t trust the person, and the person ends up being someone who spams and disrespects your subscribers, you could end up losing email addresses instead of gaining them. Therefore, it’s recommended that you only use this method as a last resort.

Pop Up Ads

Many online marketers are reluctant to use pop-up ads because they’re afraid they’ll turn prospects off. The fact is, people like filling things out and pop-ups get huge responses. It never hurts to try it out and it’s likely that you’ll be pleased with the results. These are just a few of the ways to increase your email subscriber list. The idea is to think outside the box so that you can come up with ways that will help you expand your list, and your business.

Great tips you are sharing here, Elena. However, I'm not a fan of pop-ups, they turn people off :( I always close them.

  3. Hi Mavis!
Yes, often times pop-ups can be very disturbing, but as with any marketing technique it depends on how it used.
Pop-ups can be funny like this one http://scratch.mit.edu/static/projects/BWOG/590857_med.png ;-)

  7. To be honest, I don’t see anything besides building partnerships, to be as critical these days. The most important work that businesses should focus on in the current economy is building strategic partnerships. Media buy, advertising, internet marketing, worries about sites monetization – it’s all important too, but the advertising budgets are shrinking, therefore I see strategic partnerships to be the main focus of any operation – from small start up to a established organization.
